Where do I start?

 

To start using Ergosense you need to first download and then install it.

 

Where do I download Ergosense?

To download Omniquad ErgoSense go to the Omniquad website www.omniquad.com and click Downloads. Click on the link for Ergosense and when prompted to, save it onto your system.

 

How to install ErgoSense?

Locate the file, ergosns.zip, unzip it, and get the ErgoSense.exe setup file.

 

·         Double click the ErgoSense.exe setup file.

·         The Omniquad ErgoSense Setup window appears.

·         Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

·         Click Finish to exit the installer once the operation is complete. 

 

Ergosense is now ready to work and is keeping track of your working hours. Every hour it would remind you to take a break and would also show a standardized set of exercises for your back, hips, arms, wrists, neck and shoulders. If you want to customize its operations to suit your stress and work patterns, you can change the configurations appropriately.

 

How to configure ErgoSense?

 

Click the Configure tab on the ErgoSense window. The Configure ErgoSense window appears.

 

Here you can set ErgoSense to suit your work schedules and set a password of your own to access the ErgoSense screen. You can even configure ErgoSense in such a way that it stops you from working when its time for a break.

 

Configuration options:

Ø       Set ErgoSense to allow you options to take either an exercise session or a break from work.

Ø       Manage exercise session prompts with respect to your work time.

Ø       Suspend exercise prompts when you are away from your workplace.

Ø       Choose how to be alerted of your break time.

Ø       Set a password to protect your ErgoSense configuration.

 

Prompt Schedules

 

This panel lets you set ErgoSense to prompt exercise sessions or breaks at times most appropriate to your work patterns.

 

 

·         Regular Intervals: Select this button if you want ErgoSense to prompt exercise schedules at regular intervals. You can set the time interval at which the exercise sessions should be prompted.

 

·         Fixed Times:     Select this button to set the times at which you want exercise sessions to be prompted or take short breaks. Enter a time in 24hr format in the right textbox and click Add. The left textbox would show the times you fixed for your exercise sessions/breaks.

 

·         To cancel a time you fixed, make single/multiple selections and click Remove.

 

·         You can tick the checkbox in the panel if you want ErgoSense to suspend exercise schedule prompts whenever the workstation is not in use for a specific period of time. Enter the time in minutes. 

 

Prompt Types

 

          You can choose how you want ErgoSense to alert you of the exercise schedules in this panel.

 

·         Interactive:    Select this mode to allow options to the user whether to take the exercise session, delay or cancel it for a short break. ErgoSense offers these options to the user through a text message. There is a default message that will be displayed to the user when its time for each session.

 

Click the Edit Text button to change the default message to be displayed to the user for each schedule prompt.

 

ü               Offer an exercise session – Tick this checkbox if you want ErgoSense to offer the option to take an exercise session to the user when prompting schedules.

ü               Offer a short break          ErgoSense offers the user the option to take a short break at every schedule prompt if this checkbox is ticked.

                     

·         Forced:         Selecting this mode allows you to block user access to MS Windows for a specified amount of time. Enter the time you want MS Windows to be blocked in minutes.

 

This forces the user to stop working on the computer for a specified time when its time for an exercise session.

 

Password

 

Here you can set your own password to access the ErgoSense Configuration window. You require this password to view user logs and other ErgoSense settings. This will ensure that the prompt schedules you configured for the users of your computer are neither tampered with nor changed.

 

To change a password: Leave the password fields on the configuration window blank and click on Save Settings.

The next time, you access the configuration screen without a password and then you can set a new password and save it.

 

Usage Logs

 

This tab lists details of ErgoSense user logs. It will allow the administrator to analyse which users viewed, delayed or cancelled the exercise sets. It shows the User and computer name, the date of log as well as comments as to when ErgoSense was started, stopped or how ErgoSense was used.

 

You have the option to export Usage Logs to MS Excel and save it in separate files so that you can review ErgoSense usage at your leisure. This option allows you to keep a check as to how much the users have conformed to ErgoSense exercise prompts. Thereby you can address the probable health problems your workforce could face and thus analyze their motivation as well as productivity to work.  

 

To remove usage logs, make single/multiple selections and right click. You can choose to remove all or the selected entries alone.

 

Settings

This tab lets you choose settings for ErgoSense. Here you can choose the exercise model you would like to interact with during exercise sessions as well as design suitable exercise sets for specific users.

 

·         Select Models:             Select a model from the Models list and click on this button. The model you selected will conduct the exercise sessions.

 

·         Exercise Designer:       Click on this tab to open the Exercise Session Designer window. Here you can design an exercise session adding suitable exercises appropriate to different types of users.

 

a.      To create your own sessions, first you need to name it.

Enter a name for a session. For eg. Morning Stretch, Evening Break, Simple exercises, etc.

Click New to add the session.

 

b.      Now you can describe the session. Enter any description for the session in the Description textbox.

Here you can also give names to the models, which can be user names as well [within (…) brackets] for whom the session is designed.

 

c.      To design an exercise session, select the exercises you require from the Play Video menu list.

As you click on each of the exercise you can see the model that performs it. Click on the Play button or just tick the Auto Play checkbox to see the exercise video as you design your session.

Click the Add button to add the exercise to your Exercise Sequence list.

 

d.      Select the added exercise on your sequence list box, specify the number of repetitions you need for the exercise in the Repeat Count box and click Update.

 

e.      If you wish to add a comment against the exercise sequence added, select the sequence from the list, enter any comment in the Display Comment text box and click Update.

 

f.       To delete an exercise from the Exercise Sequence list, make single/multiple selections and click Delete.

 

g.      Click Abort to cancel adding of exercise sequences.

 

h.      Click Save to save the exercise session designed.

 

i.        Click Cancel to exit the Exercise Session Designer.

 

 

 

·        Download New Models: If you wish to download new models, click here. You will be linked to the Omniquad website www.omniquad.com where you can download the models you prefer.

 

 

·        Settings panel:                This panel lets you set when and where to launch ErgoSense.

 

ü       Tick the checkbox if you want to launch ErgoSense when you start Windows.

ü       Tick the checkbox if you want to run ErgoSense in your system tray.

 

Final Pointers

 

Ø       Click on Save Settings each time you configure ErgoSense.

 

Ø       Click on the Exercise Now button if you wish to take a session at once.

 

Ø       Click Cancel to exit ErgoSense.

 

 

ErgoSense exercise window

 

The ErgoSense Exercise window appears when you click on Exercise Now or when it’s the time for an exercise session.

 

Ø       Click on Pause Exercise if you wish to stop it for sometime. The exercise resumes as soon as you click OK.

 

Ø       Click on ErgoSense Guide to refer to the guide provided for you.

 

Ø       Click on Description for a step-by-step instruction on how to do the exercises.

 

Ø       Click on Cancel Exercise button if you wish to cancel the exercise session.
